Six Flags Magic Mountain is adding another coaster This Summer that will be located near Terminator Salvation.This coaster is being taken from Six Flags New Orleans,also a fairly unqiue and impressive new coaster may be planned for next year,possibly located near the top of the Mountain itself along with a Wiggles World.Disney's California Adveture is getting a makeover.DCA will add Cars Land.The featured attraction will be Radiator Springs Racers.a detailed dark ride that ends with an outdoor side by side racing finale.The ride will begin with a race briefing from Lightning McQueen and end at the Wheel Well Motel.Some elements said to be featured are switchbacks,tunnels,bridges,wa terfalls and banked turns.Radiator Springs Racers maybe using an entirely new ride system being created,based more on the concept of using a true roller coaster track system that Disney will try to hide from view.Disney is working with AMEC on this concept.Cars Land will also offer two other,smaller rides based on the film's characters,Luigi and Mater.And the Cars Land Drive-In Restaurant,in which diners will watch old movie clips about cars while eating inside retro-fitted automobiles.Cars Land will debut June 2012.DCA is in the process getting its own nighttime show World of Color.Located in a new 9,000 person Outdoor Amphitheater named Paradise Park that will be multi-leveled and opens on February 20,alongside Paradise Pier,a 25 minute nighttime show,World of Color will transform Paradise Bay into water spectacular,utilizing 1,200 individual fountains,showcasing the magic of Disney animation,from classic to contemporary.The show will use water effects and pyrotechnics to highlight classic Disney animation.They are currently doing testing and programing for the show.Disney's World of Color start soft openings in April followed by an offical star studded opening event in Late April.It offically opens May 1st.The Little Mermaid:Ariel's Undersea Adventure.A dark ride featuring music and characters from the film is coming to Paradise Pier.The Little Mermaid ride will debut next May.Mulholland Madness will be remade as Goofy's Sky School.Mulholand Madness closes soon and Goofy's Sky School opens in December.Orange Stinger is being remade as the Silly Symphony Swings.The remodeled attraction will have a Band Conductor Mickey on top of the tower who will move around to the music.The top will be remodeled to be more like a carousel to allow for the placement of scenes from the Silly Symphonies on the inside of each section.The Silly Symphonies Swings opens April 29th.Hollywood Pictures Backlot will be renamed Hollywoodland and will represent Hollywood in the 1930s.Buena Vista Street is a new experience that will introduce people to a world of historic California streets just as Walt experienced as a young artist.Outside in the streets,Red Car trolleys,will travel on the main street.The Golden Gate Bridge will be replaced by arches.The sunburst structure will be with a recreation of the Carthay Circle Theater that will be a Resort Preview Center.There will be a bronze Partners statue installed featuring a younger Walt Disney.Buena Vista Street opens Summer 2012.Construction starts soon.Star Tours is shutting down October to work on the massive overhaul it will receive for the concept rebirth.It will be in 3D and will include a upgraded projection system as well as all new in-cabin special effects.They also hinted at the ability to alter the ride film as well with many alternate beginning,middle and end action sequences which can be mixed together in new ways to create a wide assortment of ride possibilities,allowing Star Tours II to possibly be different every time you ride it.Star Tours 2 opens May 2011.Universal Studios Hollywood plans to build a attraction based on Transformers.The ride will replace Backdraft and the Special Effects attractions.The attraction will fuse 3D-HD media,mega special effects and stunning robotics.The ride system could be an copy of the Spiderman ride system.The ride may have an extensive use of fire effects at a point,which the Backdraft building was designed to handle with extra air circulation equipment on the roof.Construction starts around Spring Break.The ride will debut in summer 2012.
